Description John Keller 2008-09-14 22:09:36 UTC
Not sure if this is gnome-terminal or Metacity, but here goes...

I start gnome-terminal with --geometry 100x30. Using "normal" Metacity, I can open and close tabs without a problem.

However, when using Metacity as a compositing manager, each successive tab open and close shrinks the window, e.g. launch: 100x30, new tab: 99x27, tab close: 99x27, new tab: 98x24, etc.

I haven't tried this with other compositors, so I don't know if this is general (the way terminal calculates based on geometry) or specific to Metacity (geometry returned by it).

I'd be happy to give more info/try more tests as needed.
