Hi,

either there is no IMAP IDLE support in Evolution's Mailer or it's not working properly. New Mails on the Inbox do not appear right after they receive, Evolution either doesn't check it at all (I need to check manually) or it checks in defined intervals.
It would be nice if Evolution would tell me that I've got new mail before my mobile does it. ;-)

Thanks

LOL. My Nokia phone which does support IMAP IDLE usually gets mail before my Evolution desktop client also. Even if I set Evolution to check for new mail every minute. IDLE is an expensive feature, but it sure is nice to get notified as soon as mail arrives.

Lack of IDLE support as well as lack of integrated SIEVE rule editor is why Thunderbird is still in the picture for me. It's a pity as Evolution has many compelling features and is a very polished client.

I'm not a developer, but I'm assuming that adding IDLE support must be hard as it's been on the planned features list for some years now. Perhaps not enough people are asking for it..
