Description Pacho Ramos 2008-09-10 12:44:24 UTC
Currently banshee doesn't jump to playing song automatically, I have to use "Jump to playing song" menu entry for that. Rhythmbox, on the other hand, automatically jumps to playing song. I think that it's more useful but, as I know that maybe some users will dislike, I simply suggest adding an option for configuring this

This will have the following advantages:
1. When I am playing a song and I switch to a playlist that also includes this song, it would be autoselected showing me info about playing song
2. When there are a lot of songs in a playlist, if played song is autoselected, I can easily select songs of the same artist as they will be near played one. This is usefull when I have random play selected

Thanks a lot

Both of these cases sound like they would work (or should work) in the current song pane at the top: see info about the currently playing song, the ability to select songs from the same artist etc. What do you think?

I am using banshee-1.2.1, do you mean "Browser"? (it can be enabled/disabled/relocated from "View" menu.

Yes, it's other way of doing it, but I think that it's a longer way, also, it has the same problem, for example, if you Set banshee to play at random mode and you have artists whose name starts by "A" and others by "S", if a song of "S" artist is played, I have to right click on playlist for jump to playing song or manually scroll in "Browser" of albums and artists to find current artist info

Or did you mean other panel? :-/ Thanks :-)
