Description Michael Monreal 2008-09-01 18:59:01 UTC
My Sansa e260 can't handle id3v2.4 tags which unfortunately is used in most of my mp3 files. It would be very helpful if banshee would allow to convert those tags to id3v2.3 or even id3v1 on the fly.
Comment 1 Gabriel Burt 2009-06-02 22:46:26 UTC
Additionally and quite relatedly, it would be good to have an option (probably enabled by default) to write metadata to files transferred to DAPs.
Comment 2 Gabriel Burt 2009-10-27 20:16:20 UTC
Bulk changing the assignee to banshee-maint@gnome.bugs to make it easier for people to get updated on all banshee bugs by following that address. It's usually quite apparent who is working on a given bug by the comments and/or patches attached.
Comment 3 Felipe 2011-12-15 06:27:23 UTC
Do you still have this problem? I think this bug should is invalid.
When Banshee saves a Tag, it automatically gets added as an ID3v1 and ID3v2. This behavior is due to the use of TagLib sharp. All your file should have an ID3v1 inside of them, where the ID3v2 version is not important. And your player should be able to read the ID3v1

Banshee is not under active development anymore and had its last code changes more than three years ago. Its codebase has been archived.

Closing this report as WONTFIX as part of Bugzilla Housekeeping to reflect
reality. Please feel free to reopen this ticket (or rather transfer the project
to GNOME Gitlab, as GNOME Bugzilla is being shut down) if anyone takes the
responsibility for active development again.
