GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 549895
does not honour current X gamma
Last modified: 2008-09-02 20:37:58 UTC
[ forwarded from http://bugs.debian.org/496685 by Arjan Opmeer ] Currently gnome-screensavers blank screen theme unfades to the gamma setting it reads at program startup time (normally the start of your GNOME session). However if the user in the mean time altered the X gamma with a utility like xgamma this new setting will not be honoured. Thus causing the X gamma setting to be reset everytime the screensaver kicks in and subsequently unfades. It would be nice if gnome-screensaver could be modified to read the current X gamma setting just prior to blanking the screen, so it can unfade to the setting the user is expecting and not some old value.
