Wacky MIME error for non-existant files

[ forwarded from http://bugs.debian.org/496487 by Brett Nash ] Firing up evince with a non-existent file gives the bizarre result of: Unable to open document Unknown MIME Type This is rather surprising (and rather annoying if you make a typo on the file name and don't realise it for a while).
