Description Sanyal 2008-08-30 00:43:03 UTC
The general ledger( option tools>general ledger) is not displayed properly. While scrolling the contents of the ledger are only visible intermittently. The entries disappear and are replaced by blank space.

Happens on WinXP with ledger/journal type displays.
Sliding the up/down scroll makes them randomly appear and disappear.
Comment 2 Mike 2008-09-08 00:28:23 UTC
I am also seeing this on Windows. My default view for accounts is the basic ledger view. If I click the up and down buttons on the scrollbar, everything is fine. If I click the internal part of the scroll bar to move it or click and drag the scroll bar, it has this random rendering issue.

But then if I switch to transaction journal by selecting View -> Transaction Journal and then switch back to the basic ledger by selecting View -> Basic Ledger, the problem goes away (but only for the account that was currently opened). When I open another account, the problem remains.

I have experienced this as well on WinXP Home. It appears similar to the way some Win3.x programs failed to properly update/redraw the client area (the area just becomes solid grey). For now, you can drag another window (I always keep a copy of notepad open for saving notes and other scratchpad junk) over the non-updated area, then move it back or minimize it, and the area should redraw.

This may be a duplicate of 502649, or at least the same underlying problem. I believe I've already fixed it in trunk. If anyone here can compile trunk and test this fix, please report your findings.

GnuCash 2.4.0 is released and is the first stable release containing Charles' bugfix. I tried on Windows XP pro: I had visual glitches with 2.2.9 on that system, but no longer with 2.4.0.

It looks to me this is indeed a duplicate of bug 502649 and will close it as such. Should you still encounter this problem with GnuCash 2.4.0, please add a comment to bug 502649 and reopen it. Thank you.
