Description Will Thompson 2008-08-25 14:31:09 UTC
When an account falls offline due to a “Name in use” error, there is no way to reconnect it short of disabling and enabling it, or restarting Empathy. There should be a reconnect button on the minidialog.

In fact, if you have n accounts knocked off by “Name in use” you should be able to hit one button and reconnect them all at once. This is useful if you sign into n MSN accounts at work having left your client at home running; when you get home, you want to re-enable them all.

Also there should be a notification in the status icon was otherwise the only way to know is by look at that buddy list window which is, in my case, hidden.

Happen also with "authentication failed" which can happen when the server on the other side is "broken"

Still happening in 2.27.9x on Jaunty (in my case with an IRC account).
