Currently, nemiver is missing a status bar, to explain what it is doing and why UI might not be responsive (GNOME spinner is not sufficient).

We need to decide what we want to put inside.
At least we need to have descriptive help for menu entries (needed by HIG, I think)
There is also the line/column position for the editor.
I would see also a notification system, for instance to notify there are missing symbols and so you'll have difficulties for debugging; or to notify the source file was modified outside nemiver and need reloading.
