GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 547573
Orca has problems navigating past a couple of links on java.sun.com
Last modified: 2008-09-12 17:34:11 UTC
Sérgio reported on the Orca list: ------------------------- I think orca is not able to advance down on some pages, when orca is controlling the caret. Steps to reproduce: 1. Go to http://java.sun.com/javase/6/webnotes/install/jdk/install-linux.html 2. Press h to go to the heading named "content". 3. Press down arrow to advance down on the page. Actual result: Orca announce repeatedly two links: "System Requirements" and "jdk installation instructions" and doesn't go down. It seems orca doesn't like this page, because when I press insert+right arrow to go to next object, orca goes to the top of the page. Expected result: Orca should go to the next link, which is "Installation of Self-Extracting Binary". Even I select the jeco is controlling the caret option, orca doesn't read this link, although it is able to progress on the page. I'm using orca 2.23.90pre on ubuntu 8.04. ------------------------- Confirmed.
I'm trying to get to the bottom of another bug (bug 547477). When I change the status to NEEDINFO, I don't get a "bugzilla tip". I'm wondering if the bug has to be one that you filed in order to see this "tip", so I looked for a bug that I filed and which had no folks on the CC list to minimize spam. This bug was the winner. Apologies to those who get the spam anyway.
Created attachment 118380 [details] [review] revision 1 Mike please test this thoroughly in Firefox and Thunderbird, and also on your steak site. Thanks!
so far I'm not seeing anything unpleasant with this patch. I'd say it is worth checking in for wider user testing.
Thanks Mike. Done. Moving to pending.
