Sorry for lots of ??? but I don't know why it happened.
The version field says 2.22.x and the GNOME version says 2.23/2.24. Which Epiphany version are you using? Can you describe exactly what happens?
1. I use - because of lack of epiphany-extensions-2.23.x in gnome overlay[1] - epiphany-2.22.3. However my version of gnome, as a fan of it[2], is 2.23.5. 2. I browsed the web. I entered the ooo 3.0 beta download site. I wanted to edit the url bar - but it couldn't even get focus. After some time (after close of this page? I didn't thought this page caused it so I didn't watch it) I found that I can edit it back again. [1] For those who don't know how Gentoo works: Gnome overlay == package repository for Gentoo with the dev version of gnome. Despite it is build from source (and I'm able to set many parameters such as CFLAGS or what to enable) it is done by special scripts. [2] And gnome in alpha/beta is still more stable then Windows - and of course have much more features ;)
It seems that the problem is with focus. If I double click on the bar it grabs focus and it is entired select. I can move the cursor delete etc. but I cannot select text.
Two things: 1. Are you using a development version of GTK+? 2. Did the site with the problem have flash running? Both things could be the reason. Please point us to a website where you can reproduce the problem always.
(In reply to comment #5) > Two things: > 1. Are you using a development version of GTK+? Yes > 2. Did the site with the problem have flash running? > No. I've reproduced it after uninstall of flash (ie swfdec) > Both things could be the reason. Please point us to a website where you can > reproduce the problem always. > It seems to not be connected with websites. It happens randomly.
Which version of GTK+ are you using?
2.13.6
Reproduced with gtk+ 2.14.3 and epiphany 2.24.0.1.
gtk+ 2.15.4 and epiphany 2.24.3-r10. I'd like to point out that that per-window problem. I.e - if it occures on one window in do not necessaey occure on other.
I can reproduce this with Git HEAD and gtk3-3.0.3. There is no visual feedback when I use Ctrl+L or left-click/drag to select the text in the url bar. The text does get selected though because I can copy and paste it elsewhere. I have a feeling that this only happens with https:// URLs. eg., https://bugs.freedesktop.org/ , https://bugs.webkit.org/ , https://mail.google.com
