GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 545509
when network-manager-applet asks a wlan password and the wlan list is open X blocks
Last modified: 2009-04-22 23:02:17 UTC
Please describe the problem: While the nm-applet tried to connect to my encrypted WLAN it used gnome-keyring to ask the wlan password, so gnome-keyring-ask popped open with the password prompt. At the same time I had opened the List of available WLANS in nm-applet. Result: Keyboard unavailable, all Mouse-Clicks ignored, no way to enter a password or abort the password dialog. I had to switch to a text console and kill gnome-keyring ask. Steps to reproduce: Actual results: Expected results: Does this happen every time? Other information:
That's odd. Sorry about that. Could you specify our OS, version of X and compositor? Also could you pull excerpts from /var/log/auth.log (gnome-keyring will log here) and the X logs? Otherwise there's very little info to go on.

X screen grabbing is a mess. This bug report is related (and counter to) bug #527361
This is the same behavior as bug #507392
I know it is a later bug but I'm going to mark this as a duplicate of bug #571423. If you'd like to see this fixed for 2.26.x please contribute to the needed information and testing at that bug. Thanks! *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 571423 ***
I am sorry. The IT-Department of the computer sciences department decided to drop all email containing 'daemon' in the Sender-Adress. So I was not able to receive any buzilla-DAEMON-mails :| Back on topic: I cannot provide any information anymore. It seems to work for me, so this bug shall stay resolved. I have updated several times since the initial report and was not able to reproduce this behaviour any more. cheers, Florian
