GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 545415
Periodic freezes while playing tracks
Last modified: 2020-03-17 08:33:04 UTC
I've been noticing periodic freezes when listening to Last.fm radio. (That's about all I've been doing lately, so that may not be the problem. You've been warned.) How I'll usually notice it is that I'll see what's playing (usually to skip it) but neither the time slider nor the next button are responsive. Generally, if I click they will eventually respond, but often after upwards of a minute or so. Some debug output is forthcoming.
Created attachment 115533 [details] Debug output The only curious thing I noticed here (and that's not saying much) is that the last portion of debug output is all from the same minute, when that's not exactly how things progressed. I hit "Next" about a minute before the song changed, and quit Banshee even a few more seconds after that.
Created attachment 115535 [details] More output Different output, now from a reproducible case: 1. Start Banshee. 2a. Do not click on Last.fm pane. 2b. Click on Recommended station (or Neighbors). 3. Freeze.
Same problem in Banshee 1.4.2 (Ubuntu 8.04.2 64bits)
Bulk changing the assignee to banshee-maint@gnome.bugs to make it easier for people to get updated on all banshee bugs by following that address. It's usually quite apparent who is working on a given bug by the comments and/or patches attached.
Guess we could close this one? Anybody still using Last.fm at all? ,http://lasvegas.ch/
Banshee is not under active development anymore and had its last code changes more than three years ago. Its codebase has been archived. Closing this report as WONTFIX as part of Bugzilla Housekeeping to reflect reality. Please feel free to reopen this ticket (or rather transfer the project to GNOME Gitlab, as GNOME Bugzilla is being shut down) if anyone takes the responsibility for active development again. See https://gitlab.gnome.org/Infrastructure/Infrastructure/issues/264 for more info.
