Description flan 2001-05-11 21:38:01 UTC
Package: gnome-core
Severity: normal
Version: 1.4.0.2
Synopsis: gnome-session crash with Exceed
Bugzilla-Product: gnome-core
Bugzilla-Component: gsm

Description:
This happened when I was trying to set up an Exceed initialization
on a Windows 2000 box which was acting as an X server for a
Linux machine with Ximian 1.4 installed.

1) Launch Exceed
2) connect to the remote machine and run 'gnome-session' to
start the session (I'm using Ximian's standard session)
3) open a gnome-terminal
4) open the settings box and go to running programs
5) delete 'panel', 'gmc', and mark 'sawfish' as Trash
6) hit ok (twice)
7) close the settings manager
8) in the gnome-terminal type 'save-session --kill'
9) check the save-session box and logout.

Please try the newly released gnome-core-1.4.0.5. Tarball is at
http://download.gnome.org/. I made a package you can try if you are
using a Red Hat Linux system. Find it at
http://www.gnome.org/~kmaraas/gnome-core-1.4.0.5-1.i386.rpm

There's also a new gnome-libs out which is needed for this. Package in
the same above dir...

Please respond and tell us if this has been solved in later releases.
Comment 15 flan 2002-03-17 04:53:19 UTC
I will try to test this soon, but I need to set up my server again.
