It works well with all the others users on my computer !!!
I d'nt understand why ??
Comment 2 Charles Day 2008-08-01 23:59:01 UTC
Unfortunately, this is not enough information to know what is wrong. Two suggestions:

1. Upgrade to version 2.2.6 (just released)
2. If that doesn't work, try launching GnuCash with "--nofile". I think to do this you would do Start->Run... Then type (including the quotes):
  "c:\Program Files\gnucash\bin\gnucash.bat --nofile"

Charles: Please use NEEDINFO for this so other triagers know it's been triaged already.
Comment 4 Moreau 2008-08-04 12:20:14 UTC
Thank's for your answer.
I've tried your suggestions with version 2.2.6 i've the same problem.
So, now I use the portable version 2.2.4 from Framekey.
It works well.
Comment 5 Charles Day 2008-08-04 15:53:44 UTC
Do you still have 2.2.6 installed? If so, could you provide a backtrace of the crash using gdb so that we developers might be able to figure out what is wrong?

See the instructions here:
http://wiki.gnucash.org/wiki/Windows#Debugging_with_gdb

Also, you said that 2.2.6 did not work for you, but worked for other users on your computer. Were they opening the same GnuCash data file, or a different one?

It looks like the problem has something to do with the ORBit2 library, which is something GnuCash developers don't control. Does GnuCash work if you turn off your firewall?
Comment 9 Moreau 2008-08-10 15:11:50 UTC
Thank's for your answer
I use Norton Protect Center, the problem is the same after desactivation of firewall.
What is the ORBit2 library ?
Comment 10 Charles Day 2008-08-10 16:35:55 UTC
All I know about ORBit2 is that it is a library that GnuCash uses, and that it caused problems when firewalls blocked network access. I don't know if this is the same problem or a different one, but based on your backtrace it looks like ORBit2 is involved. If so, then I don't think this is a problem that GnuCash developers can solve. But we may be able to report it to the ORBit2 developers.

There is currently a least one other user experiencing an ORBit2-related problem (bug 510720), and he also said just today that turning off the firewall didn't help.
Comment 11 Moreau 2008-08-11 08:21:51 UTC
Thank's for this details.
I think that there is a problem with my user environnement because Gnucash works well with all the other uers of the computer.

The portable version of Gnucash access the lan too without any problem.

So, i've one solution by using this portable version 2.2.4 form Framakey.
Thank's very much for your answers.

I'm not sure what the next step is here, so I've asked for additional input on the developers mailing list.
