Description xnvvnx 2008-07-22 10:21:46 UTC
The gnome-search-tool search results are not consistent with other file navigation tools in Gnome. For instance, when right-clicking search results, a user is only given four options: Open, Open Folder, Move To Trash, and Save Results As. Many other basic menu options are missing: Open With, Cut, Copy, Rename, Send to, Create Archive, and Properties, among others.

I have the patch to add "open with".

Other file operations are dependent on:

The "open with" patch was applied on 3/16/09 to version 2.27.1.

+1

Being able to cut, copy, and send to... (amongst others) would make it easy to do things like search for new songs and copy them to removable media.

gnome-search-tool is not under active development anymore.
Its codebase has been archived:
https://gitlab.gnome.org/Archive/gnome-search-tool/commits/master

Closing this report as WONTFIX as part of Bugzilla Housekeeping to reflect
reality. Please feel free to reopen this ticket (or rather reactivate the project
to GNOME Gitlab, as GNOME Bugzilla is deprecated) if anyone takes the
responsibility for active development again.
