GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 540637
Enhance function of left and right arrow keys in Icon View so they "wrap round".
Last modified: 2008-06-28 19:14:44 UTC
When using Nautilus to view files in Icon View you can use the left and right arrow keys to move to the next or previous icon within the current row of icons. I would like these keys to "wrap" round and move to the previous/next row as necessary. i.e. When I've reached the end of a row (the rightmost icon) I would like a subsequent press of the right arrow key to take me to the first icon in the next row (the leftmost icon). If I was am on the last icon of the last row then a press of the right arrow should take me to the first icon in the view (first icon, first row). Similarly the left arrow should also "wrap round" taking me from the first (leftmost) icon on the current row to the last (rightmost) icon of the preceeding row. This would save many key presses as currently you have to press "Home" followed by the down arrow to get to the first icon of the next row.
