I'm connected to the company's OWA server via WIFI over the https tunnel. The WIFI signal is strong but might be a little flacky from time to time. 

Almost everytime Evo hangs if I try to do something in the mailer (i.e. writing a new mail or renaming a folder). I'm also using tasks and calendar which are working fine on Exchange.

It's a mass if I try to rename a folder rightclicking it. Then, the context menu pops up and Evo hangs. With this context menu open, it's not possible for me to do anything else in the overall system, except CTRL-ALT-BKSP! Damn if there are unsaved documents open. This is not happening all the time but pretty often.

I figured out that Evo blacks out if I have activated the top posting option, which raises the signature field to the top. This happens as soon as I start writing into the body.

OK, this just happened also trying to compose a mail using the SMTP account, so it might not be an Exchange problem.

thanks for taking the time to report this bug.
Could you try to get us a stacktrace from a terminal once evo hangs? Like pressing CTRL+ALT+1 and follow instructions from http://live.gnome.org/GettingTraces/Details#gdb-already-running

Without a stacktrace, it's rather hard to determine what causes this issue.

Thanks for taking the time to report this bug.
Unfortunately, that stack trace is missing some elements that will help a lot
to solve the problem, so it will be hard for the developers to fix that crash.
Could you please install some debugging packages [1], start the application as
normal, and reproduce the crash, if possible?

Once bug-buddy pops up, you can find the stacktrace in the Details, now
containing way more information. Please copy that stacktrace and paste it as a
comment here. Thanks in advance!

Here instead of 'cont' , you need to do 'thread a a bt', what ever traces you get after this operation, you need to paste here. I would also suggest to paste traces of exchange-storage process also which will help us to identifying what server operation is going on. 

"gdb $(which evolution) 8247" - here also you can use "gdb -p process-id", It looks easy :)

After doin a new OS installation, this still happens. Also on a stable WIFI network, where it never happened before. I'll go downgrade to an old version and see if it works there. Lookin at those facts that Eco became useless, I'd turned prio to blocer.

We still have no good stacktrace. Could you please get us the stacktrace when Evo hangs? Also It is common that Evo doesn't respond as soon as gdb is attached. You would have to type "cont" if you wanted it to continue running.

OK, back on critical as requested.

Since the first report, I tried to downgrade to version 2.22.1 without success (still hangs).
I saw also, that you asked me to copy bug-buddy's output when it pops up, but this is not automatically the case.
So i forced bb to come up manually by calling 'bug-buddy --appname=evolution --pid=xxxxx'.

If this is not what you are looking, just tell me and we get another output. Honestly, getting debug output is new for me (as you might have seen). If there is any, I'd love to see some kind of support on instant messenger side.

Based on the latest stack trace, I think we can safely call this a dupe.

The good news is there's a patch for this under evaluation.
