GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 540218
Image Settings - window for printing does not respond and then becomes blank
Last modified: 2008-10-30 20:14:07 UTC
I have assumed that GIMP 2.4.6 should work on my Vista Home Premium - according to "http://gimp.org/downloads/" : "(...) Download GIMP 2.4.6 – Installer for Windows 2000 and above"). However I am experiencing problem with GUI on Vista. I will describe the steps which lead to GUI misbehaviour: 1) I load jpg into GIMP (attachment 1 [details]: 1-test-image.jpg) 2) I click "print" in menu 3) I click "Image settings" (result in attachment 2 [details]: 2-before_adjust_page.jpg) 4) I click "Adjust page size and orientation" (result in attachment 3 [details]: 3-page_properties.jpg) 5) I close "Page properties/settings" 6) Now I have GUI not responding in "Image Settings" window (which is error) 7) When I click on tab: General, and the "Image Settings", the "Image settings" tab becomes blank (which I find as an error) - attachment 4 [details]: "5_become_blank.jpg". To solve the problem I tried installing GIMP before and after printer-driver setup, also uninstalling GIMP and installing again after computer restart, but it didn't help. My system is Vista Home Premium 32-bit, SP1, patched up-to-date. Printer is HP Photosmart c3180. Printer driver is the most recent from HP website. I attached example .jpg at which I have mentioned mischances (1-test-image.jpg), however I have the same problems with other jpgs in GIMP too. If it helps - my computer has 4GB RAM (3.25 on Vista 32-bit) and does not experience any other problems. GIMP is 2.4.6
