Description ajmal 2008-06-23 21:16:22 UTC
i like to see convertor integrated into calculator.like area, mass, temperature, weight, volume, currency(with online server support like moneymill,xe.com to see exchange rates),length, energy, velocity, power, pressure.
Comment 1 Robert Ancell 2008-09-23 11:02:15 UTC
Currency conversion is in bug #533690

Comment 2 Matthias Clasen 2009-11-25 15:38:11 UTC
This would be a pretty nice addition.
Comment 3 Robert Ancell 2010-03-12 04:26:27 UTC
Updated to reflect that you can now do conversion with the "in" operator, e.g.:
1mL in quarts
There is no GUI to input this, updating bug title.
Please open a new bug report for any units that are not currently implemented.
Comment 4 Matthias Clasen 2010-03-12 05:05:04 UTC
Hmm, interesting. I just tried

20m² in cm²

That didn't work...
Comment 5 Matthias Clasen 2010-03-12 05:11:48 UTC
I think there should be a list of supported units in the docs, since things can be somewhat confusing with abbreviations:

2m in cm yields 321868.8

whereas

2meter in cm gives the expected 200
Comment 6 Matthias Clasen 2010-03-12 05:17:13 UTC
Turns out that 'm' is twice in the length unit list, once for mile and once for meter. Meter looses :-(

Also, looking at those lists, some of the unit names could probably benefit from being translated.
Comment 7 Robert Ancell 2010-03-12 05:52:05 UTC
Whoops, that should have been "mi" for mile. Fixed in head.
The superscript values aren't working, must fix that..
Comment 8 Robert Ancell 2010-03-15 05:44:07 UTC
Superscript units not working is tracked in bug 612914
Comment 9 Robin Sonefors (ozamosi) 2010-10-10 21:22:42 UTC
