Description Ravi Chandra Padmala 2008-06-23 20:08:22 UTC
Please describe the problem:
When I click on "Search" "Recently Used" and the user's home directory (in that order) from the left pane *fast* the entries on the right are duplicated. Doing this again negates the effect.

If I do this slowly (normal speed) everything works fine.

I noticed this in VLC, and I reproduced it in Gedit.

While I was writing this, I tried it out a bit more,
1) It doesn't happen only to the home directory, happens to any directory I click on the left.
2) Just "Search" and "home" does it, "Recently Used" doesn't have to be clicked.

A small ( < 700Kb) MPEG video of this: http://neenaoffline.one09.net/gtk-bug.mpeg
A screenshot: http://neenaoffline.one09.net/gtk-bug.png

Steps to reproduce:
1. Start gedit
2. Click Open file
3. Click on "Search" and then on your home directory (Do this very fast)

Actual results:
The file/directory entries on the right are duplicated.

Expected results:

Does this happen every time?
This happens everytime I click *quickly*

Other information:
I am using awesome WM. when the location area is replace with the search area, the window expands to will upwards. Hence, I just click thrice without moving the cursor, and this happens. (Also happens if I move the cursor).

Reproduces just fine in 2.12, doesn't reproduce in 2.14. It's probably a dup of #500906, fix for which probably wasn't backported to 2.12.
