99.9% of the times I open a new tab I want to enter the address of the page I want to go to. Having to select the address bar for this every time is annoying.

There was a bug on this issue some time ago, but I couldn't find it (bugzillas search sucks ;-))

There were about a hundred bugs on this issue, and they are all a duplicate of bug 105153.
