Description Jorge Castro 2008-06-18 14:43:57 UTC
I created a playlist when I wanted to make an audio CD. In banshee I ordered the tracks in the order that I wanted and then selected them all and right click->burn to CD.

The tracks show up in brasero in a seemingly random order instead of the order they were in when they were in banshee. The order should be preserved.

(Unsure if this is a banshee problem or brasero problem.)

I can confirm this.

This is a problem with Brasero 0.8.1 and Banshee 1.2.1.

This might have something to do with bug #547874
Comment 2 Alexander Stek 2008-12-18 22:53:44 UTC
For me, it is in reverse order, no matter whether it is a single cd or a playlist.
Comment 3 Alexander Stek 2008-12-18 22:55:25 UTC
* I have brasero 0.7.1 and banshee 1.4.1
Comment 4 Michael Martin-Smucker 2009-03-06 20:54:56 UTC
There is a broader bug in Banshee (bug #558960) that addresses the issue of playlists not remembering their sort criteria. Maybe this bug and that one are in some way related...?
Comment 5 Benjamín Valero Espinosa 2009-03-08 10:51:39 UTC
In Fedora 10, with Banshee Trunk and Brasero 0.8.4 I cannot reproduce the bug. Either from the Music Library or a playlist, I sort the songs, by clicking the columns or by sorting by hand, and Brasero respects the order.

If anyone can confirm this, I suppose this bug should be closed.
Comment 6 John D 2009-04-03 17:12:01 UTC
This bug existed for me with 1.4.1, but no more in 1.4.3. Brasero used to create a track list in reverse order of my Banshee 1.4.1 playlist or music library (bottom track on top).

Currently, highlighting the songs I want on the CD, Brasero lists the tracks in the same order as they are listed in the Playlist or Music Library (top to bottom).

This is with: Ubuntu 8.10, Banshee 1.4.3, and Brasero 0.8.4

I vote confirm closed.

This bug is however not related to bug #558960

If you're burning MP3s to a CD, the track ordering is going to come out nonsense anyway, unless the files are renamed first.

I wrote a little script to help do this, if that's of interest to anyone...

Bulk changing the assignee to banshee-maint@gnome.bugs to make it easier for people to get updated on all banshee bugs by following that address. It's usually quite apparent who is working on a given bug by the comments and/or patches attached.
Comment 9 Benjamín Valero Espinosa 2010-01-06 00:10:39 UTC
I'm marking this as resolved.
Feel free to re-open it if you still experience this bug.
