It would be useful that the file chooser showed up the files of the last selected directory.
It's likely that the 2 - 3 files/dirs to diff are located in the same directory.
Also it's likely that they are located deeply in the home directory (i.e. /home/username/dev/test/site/main/app).
If the 2 - 3 files are located in app it's annoying to select all the parent dirs before to get there for each file.
Also it would make sense to have this option configurable (active / not active) in the preferences menu.
