Description Andrew Burton 2008-06-13 22:50:24 UTC
iTunes uses the non-standard TCMP field to define that an album is a compilation, i.e. the one artist is not the same for the entire album.

In Banshee, in the instance of soundtracks or 'best of 2008' type CDs, the albums are duplicated in the browser list, once for each unique artist. This looks messy and makes sorting by album painful when there are multiple duplicate entries.

Banshee should use the TCMP field where present, or add support to designating an album as a compilation, for compatibility with iTunes.

Users might have spent a lot of time preparing MP3 libraries with other players, so any support for compatibility makes switching to Banshee easier.
