Description seer 2001-04-28 02:19:03 UTC
Package: gnome-applets
Severity: enhancement
Version: 1.4.0.1
Synopsis: [Feature Request] Mixer Applet is really a volume applet
Bugzilla-Product: gnome-applets
Bugzilla-Component: mixer

Description:
This applet is really just a volume applet. If it were a true mixer, it would have the same functionality as gmix, but in applet form. I personally would love to have "CD" and "Line1" volume control on my panel, or even just slightly pop-up up from my panel. This is not possible with the mixer applet.

WONTFIX for 1.4.x because of frozen translations.

Can the Volume Control applet be expanded so that it can have multiple
instancies just like the system monitor applet has cpu/mem/swap?

This is, I would have two buttons in the applet, one will control the
main volume (current applet) and the second will control the CD volume.

This way you don't have to open the Gnome Mixer all the time (or have
it running) just because you want to control main/cd/wav/whatelse
volume at the same time.

This solution does not interferes with accessibility and will only
need a preferences dialog + some lines of code.
