Description Paul Nielsen 2008-06-10 20:47:08 UTC
When using windows explorer to open a file, a long name file is given a short 8.3 name, and this name then replaces the long name when Gnumeric is closed.

The 8.3 name, ending in GNU, is not even recognized as a spreadsheet when trying to open spreadsheets from the Gnumberic file browser.

For example, "EMC SCANS_ClearNav(RevD).gnumeric" gets turned into EM9778~1.GNU

(Running Windows 2000, SP4, with all Microsoft updates)

The previous version of Gnumeric I was running, from gnumeric-1.7.12-win32-1.exe, did not do this.
