Description Sven Salzwedel 2008-06-10 09:59:36 UTC
Please describe the problem:
Sound Juicer doesn't save the disc number in the ripped and encoded file.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Insert a CD and change the "CD" field
2. Rip the CD
3. Inspect the Metadata of the file and recognize that there is no disc number.

Actual results:
The disc number wasn't saved, but the CD was ripped.

Expected results:
The ripped files should have a Disc Number entry in their Metadata.

Does this happen every time?
Yes.

Works for me. What format are you ripping to?
Comment 2 Sven Salzwedel 2008-06-10 11:39:56 UTC
Hi,

I've tried OGG and FLAC so far. I've seen that the YEAR field is also missing in the files' metadata.

Are there any dependencies that are required for this on gstreamer side? I'm using the Arch Linux binary package.
Comment 3 Ross Burton 2008-06-10 12:03:13 UTC
It's probably a bug in the ogg muxer.
Comment 4 Ross Burton 2008-06-10 12:15:27 UTC
Right, GStreamer should be writing YEAR and DISCNUMBER fields as vorbiscomments.

Turns out that SJ was ignoring you changing the disc number. Fixed in svn, will be in 2.26.
