GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 537197
Banshee fails to import Ogg Vorbis files with .oga extension
Last modified: 2008-09-15 17:50:01 UTC
When I import a folder of .oga Vorbis files to my Banshee 1.0.0 library, the files get places in an "Errors" directory on the left like so: http://eblognuts.org/brad/Photos/banshee_oga.png Note: Aaron Bockover added support for .oga Vorbis files for me in bug 532561
What error do you get for one of the files? You can copy/paste the error from the terminal if you run banshee-1 from a terminal and then try to import.
When importing one .oga vorbis file: [Error 21:51:30.138] /home/brad/Music/Williamson/A Few Things To Hear Before We All Blow Up/04 - Time You'll Never Get Back.oga - /home/brad/Music/Williamson/A Few Things To Hear Before We All Blow Up/04 - Time You'll Never Get Back.oga (taglib/oga)

Marking major since (iirc) Sound-Juicer produces .oga by default now.
How is this different from bug #532561 ? AFAICT it should be closed as a dupe and the other reopened if this is still a problem.
Bug #532561 seems to be about ripping. This bug report is about import .oga files into Banshee (e.g. ripped with Sound Juicer).
From the other bug: "I have changed all of my .ogg Vorbis files to the newer extension .oga and Banshee beta will not add them to the library." From this one: "When I import a folder of .oga Vorbis files to my Banshee 1.0.0 library, the files get places in an "Errors" directory on the left like so" Closing this as a duplicate, and we can reopen the other one b/c I can confirm importing .oga's doesn't work. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 532561 ***
