GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 536343
changes to google calendars are not saved and vanish after restarting evolution
Last modified: 2008-11-03 12:59:29 UTC
Please describe the problem: When I add a new event to a google calendar, it appears locally in Evolution but is not saved to Google Calendar. After restarting Evolution it is gone. No error messages appear. Steps to reproduce: 1. add a new calendar of the type google calendar 2. add an event 3. restart evolution Actual results: Event is not saved back to Google calendar, it disappears when Evolution is restarted. Expected results: It should be properly saved. Mozilla Thunderbird / Lightning with Google Calendar extension does it right, btw. Does this happen every time? yes, I am using Evolution 2.22 since it was released and I never ever managed to make it save any event to Google Calendar. Tested on Debian Sid/Exeperimental and on Ubuntu Hardy Other information: Evolution does not show the user name in the properties dialogue of the calendar. So my suspicion was that it fails to connect to google. However it succeeds in downloading the calendar data. it just fails to upload local changes.
just tried with OpenSUSE 11 RC1. Results are just as poor or even worse. Only part of my calendar events are displayed in Evolution. No local changes make it into my Google calendar.
I can confirm this doesn't work as of evolution-2.22.2-2.fc9.i386 In Fedora 9. Username isn't stored when right clicking, then selecting properties either...
Now that I've searched, I think its a duplicate of 530288 http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=530288
Can you please try in current stable 2.24.1, thanks. Problem should have been fixed by bug 521921.
yes, I see this works now in Ubuntu 8.10. Unfortunately, it may take a long time until the fix makes in into Debian, where I am seeing the bug.
Cool, then better to mark dup of bug 521921 *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 521921 ***
