Description Milan Crha 2008-06-02 13:48:07 UTC
There is not possible to create a direct subfolder over INBOX folder in maildir account at the moment. The popup menu item "New folder" is not accessible over the Inbox folder in the evo's UI.
Comment 1 Milan Crha 2008-06-02 15:01:46 UTC
OK, it seems like there is everything under Inbox in maildir, thus evo prevents creating subfolders in the Inbox and uses it as a special folder. Because the folder structure starts in the Inbox, then there is noway how to distinguish between folders under Inbox and in the same level as the Inbox. I do not like the idea to not be able to create folders under Inbox, same as to not be able to create folders in same level as Inbox, both is a difference between actual behavior of the local store, both make trouble with the non-evo maildir stores.

Any suggestions?

we should be able to create under INBOX, if we move local to maildir, this will be a regression.
Comment 3 David Woodhouse 2011-04-15 08:28:42 UTC
I can create such folders on my Dovecot IMAP server, which uses IMAP as its mailstore. It uses '.' as the path separator.

So my inbox is in ~/Maildir/cur, and my "INBOX/asd" folder is ~/Maildir/.INBOX.asd/cur, etc.

gr, stupid dwmw2. Meant to say "... which uses Maildir as its mailstore". More tea required.

GNOME is going to shut down bugzilla.gnome.org in favor of gitlab.gnome.org.
As part of that, we are mass-closing older open tickets in bugzilla.gnome.org which have not seen updates for a longer time (resources are unfortunately quite limited so not every ticket can get handled).

If you can still reproduce the situation described in this ticket in a recent and supported software version, then please follow
  https://wiki.gnome.org/Community/GettingInTouch/BugReportingGuidelines
and create a new ticket at
  https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/evolution-data-server/-/issues/

Thank you for your understanding and your help.
