GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 535856
gpk-update-icon crashes while enabling desktop effects in OpenSUSE 11.0 RC1 / gpk-update-icon-bugreport
Last modified: 2008-09-23 17:36:26 UTC
I was trying to enable desktop effects but it failes as "gpk-update-icon" crashes every time. Upon selecting “Enable Desktop Effect” in Desktop Effects in Control Center, it refreshes. And when I select “High Effects” in Profile and click that Green Check mark to apply, this error message pops up: Failed to reset client: Failed to reset get-updates. When I close that pop-up, “Bug Buddy” displays this message: “The application gpk-update-icon has crashed. Information about the crash has been successfully collected. This application is not known to bug-buddy, therefore the bug report cannot be sent to the GNOME Bugzilla. Please save the bug to a text file and report it to the appropriate bug tracker for this application.” I don't see any option to attach " gpk-update-icon-bugreport " so If someone is interested and let me know where to send / attch the report, I'll forward the bug report. - Jags
Created attachment 111823 [details] gpk-update-icon-bugreport Ok now I see the option to attch but report. - Jags
See bug 551692 for another gpk-update-icon crash; I don't know whether it's related.
packagekit tracks its bugs on the freedesktop bug tracker [1]. Please file the bug there. Anyway, I'm CC-ing Richard so that this doesn't get lost. [1] http://bugs.freedesktop.org
