Description Michael Köchling 2008-05-30 08:42:00 UTC
When you use the list-view in nautilus, you have only then the context menu entry to create a new file or folder when you click in the free space of the nautilus window. But if the folder is full of files or other folder, you don't have any free space left in the window to click into the free space and so you can't get the context menu entry for creating a new file or folder.

The solution? Make the context menu entry to create a new file or folder everytime available when using the list-view.
