GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 535161
Folder icon (custom JPEG) thumbnailed incorrectly
Last modified: 2008-06-01 10:18:04 UTC
Please describe the problem: I'm using JPEG files as custom icons for folders in nautilus (it's great visual aid while navigating through my photos). As of nautilus 2.22 thumbnailing of such folders is broken - instead of nice thumbnail with frame and dropshadow I'm getting tiny (48px high) borderless thumbnail. Also I've noticed processing (read: displaying) folder containing such items now last much longer then in previous stable Gnome release. Steps to reproduce: 1) create new folder, right-click, properties, tab 'Basic', click icon, file browser appers 2) select any JPEG file at hand, click 'Open', close folder properties dialogue 3) have a look at the folder (how does the thumbnail looks like?) Actual results: Small, borderless thumbnail is displayed. Expected results: Folder should have the same thumbnail as original JPEG (frame and dropshadow). Does this happen every time? Yes Other information: Bug has been reported in Debian BTS here: http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=481339 It also seems to be related to (or duplicate of) Bug 524392 - Custom icons show no frame http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=524392 and Bug 524134 – Desktop icon scaled down too small http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=524134
Not sure about bug 524134, but this is really a duplicate of bug 524392. Thanks for the report, please feel free to report any other bug you find. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 524392 ***
