GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 535073
Save all or a set of images
Last modified: 2008-10-30 20:13:32 UTC
When I have pasted a layer ("watermark") to say, 16 images, I want to save them all, without needing to press Ctrl-S on top of each of them. When I select "close all" I expect to be able to select images from the list that I want to save (there already is a list of the unsaved images...), and discard changes to rest of them. I suggest adding a save button to this dialog, and maybe a "Save all" option otherwise to the file menu. I think this is a standard feature in most programs and probably quick to implement. I think adding the possibility to select which images to save would yield an intuitive workflow, and could be embedded in the "Close all" dialog. There is also a bug that images aren't saved before a crash. If I'm batch editing, this is even worse. So, I would like to be able to quickly save all the images to prevent lossage in case of a crash, or when I have to close my laptop suddendly.
Thanks for the bug report. This particular bug has already been reported into our bug tracking system, but please feel free to report any further bugs you find. I'm pretty sure we have an Save all-bug report, but I coulnd't find it so I'll duplicate against the Save before crash bug report. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 148931 ***

Note that you can already save images from the "Close" dialog by dragging them to a file manager that implements XDS. If that is not an option, there are usability problems with the Save All feature that would have to be discussed on the mailing-list before a bug report is opened with a full specification of the solution.
