Description David Muir 2008-05-20 02:12:27 UTC
Please describe the problem:
When connecting to a vpn using the network-manager-vpnc plugin, the nm-applet disappears from the notification area.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Connect to VPN using nm-applet
2. Type in either password, or group password (but not both, according to other users)

Actual results:
Applet disappears, but continues to run in background. However, it seems that NetworkManager dies.

Expected results:
Applet should stay in notification area, and NetworkManager should not crash.

Does this happen every time?
Yes

Other information:
This is a copy of:
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/network-manager-vpnc/+bug/92570

A solution and fixed deb file for Ubuntu was provided a year ago, but so far has not been included in any releases. Hopefully it can be fixed from the source. :-)
