Description Olav Vitters 2008-05-17 07:14:37 UTC
Bug 342921 made gnome-terminal follow the system blink preference. It is better to do add the following dropdown:

System blink preference:
 * Follow system default (on/off)
 * On
 * Off

Follow system default should be the default option.

Given the UI freeze, what about at least making the gconf setting do something? That wouldn't involve a UI change at all. Right now, /apps/gnome-terminal/profiles/Default/cursor_blink does nothing, and having a non-working setting is a little odd.

Of course, this isn't a proper solution, but it would at lease make gnome-terminal usable again.
Comment 2 Olav Vitters 2008-05-21 12:37:55 UTC
Scott: That would be something for another bugreport, not this one.

Fixed in svn trunk (just a gconf pref, no UI).

This problem has been fixed in the development version. The fix will be available in the next major software release. Thank you for your bug report.

Thanks for the fix.

By "next major software release," do you mean Gnome 2.23 or a release before then? In other words, when can I expect this release?
Comment 6 Christian Persch 2008-05-30 10:33:25 UTC
the next 2.23.x
