Description Maciej Katafiasz 2008-05-13 10:31:36 UTC
Currently there's no way to assign keywords to smart bookmarks, which makes either choosing items from autocomplete list or placing bookmark entries on the toolbar the only way to access them. As I have upwards of 20 smart bookmarks defined, with 6 or so in constant use, neither is even remotely viable an option. Galeon/Firefox style keywords would allow me to say "ol epiphany" in the address bar and have "epiphany" looked up in OneLook, an operation which is:

1) O(1) in number of bookmarks
2) keyboardable
3) unambiguous and subject to easy muscle memorisation

Note that this is *not* a request to add keyboard shortcuts (eg. C-k) to smart bookmark entry fields, but keywords that are recognised in the URL bar and interpreted as smart bookmark invocations.

For the record, you can do this already using the deskbar applet (web search plugin).
