GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 532854
Italian translation don't work
Last modified: 2009-02-25 23:14:23 UTC
Hello, Conduit ignore the translation (I'm the italian translator ;) ). msgid "" msgstr "" "Project-Id-Version: Conduit 0.3.x\n" "Report-Msgid-Bugs-To: \n" "POT-Creation-Date: 2008-05-05 13:38+0000\n" "PO-Revision-Date: 2008-05-06 18:04+0200\n" "Last-Translator: Gianvito Cavasoli <xxxxxxxxx@nectarine.it>\n" "Language-Team: Italian <xx@lists.linux.it>\n" "MIME-Version: 1.0\n" "Content-Type: text/plain; charset=UTF-8\n" "Content-Transfer-Encoding: 8bit"
The Ubuntu 8.04 version doesn't use translation either (French), even if the language file is installed in /usr/share/locale/fr/LC_MESSAGES/conduit.mo I'll see if I can run a jhbuild development version...
Yeap, Spanish as well. I guess ALL translations.
No translations used is a total blocker. Please try to fix in time for GNOME 2.24.0(next Monday).
I'd like to help on this. One of the possible problems is the content of defs.py. On my system (Hardy), it is: APPVERSION = "0.3.6" APPNAME = "conduit" PYTHONDIR = "/usr/lib/python2.5/site-packages" LOCALE_DIR = "${prefix}/share/locale" SHARED_DATA_DIR = "/usr/share/conduit" SHARED_MODULE_DIR = "/usr/lib/conduit/modules" BIN_DIR = "/usr/bin" DATA_DIR = "@DATADIR@" LIB_DIR = "/usr/lib" Shouldn't be the '${prefix}' in the LOCALE_DIR replaced by '/usr'?
Interesting, my output is a bit different (Fedora 9): [root@embrace ~]# more /usr/lib/python2.5/site-packages/conduit/defs.py VERSION = "0.3.13" PYTHONDIR = "/usr/lib/python2.5/site-packages" BIN_DIR = "/usr/bin" LIB_DIR = "/usr/lib" LOCALE_DIR = "${prefix}/share/locale" SHARED_DATA_DIR = "/usr/share/conduit" SHARED_MODULE_DIR = "/usr/lib/python2.5/site-packages/conduit/modules" BROWSER_IMPL = "system" SETTINGS_IMPL = "GConf"
I've changed the locale_dir path to "/usr/share/locale", and now the translation work. Ubuntu Linux Hardy Heron AMD64.
