Description Marius M. M. 2008-05-10 18:17:34 UTC
It would be good if F-Spot could be configured like for example Rhythmbox. Rhythmbox doesn't force me to use it for importing my music from wherever, I can just do it using whatever application I'd like and then add the Music to the directory being watched by Rhythmbox. It then automatically adds it to its Database.
I would like to see this feature implemented into F-Spot too, since I don't really want to manage my photos only using F-Spot. This is what I always hated on iPhoto - OpenSource software should give you choices! F-Spot could instead just watch one or more folder (and optionally also its subfolders) for changes and only add the new photos to its database, depending on how it is configured it would copy them from there or just display them without actually touching them. I tried to do so by importing a folder once, then adding new pictures to that folder and importing it a second time. The result was that I had every image (which was added on the first time) twice on the second time.
