Description Pavel Kostyuchenko 2008-05-05 17:20:36 UTC
I've used "map" signal instead of "realize" because "map" seems to work better.

patch to fix hanging

Applied in trunk.

Is this a severe bug that effects anjuta/glade in gnome-2-22 ?
(i.e. should this be included in a stable bugfix release, people
are experiencing these hangs in the field ?).

Yes, it is. Glade 3.4.2 with Anjuta 2.4.0 has this bug.

Ok applied to gnome-2-22 branch so it will be in the
next bugfix release.

Looking at Glade3 3.4.5 I find that Pavel's patch is missing.
Comment 6 Debarshi Ray 2009-01-04 19:36:50 UTC
The patch is present in Glade3 3.5.4. Would be nice to have the patch in a bugfix release for Glade3 3.4.x since it affects both GNOME 2.22 and 2.24. Till then we will carry it separately in the Fedora package.
Comment 7 Tristan Van Berkom 2009-01-05 01:57:28 UTC
3.4.x is seriously discontinued, 3.6 should be ready for GNOME 2.26.

If you really think there is an audience for the 3.4 branch, I need
someone else to take care of that branch - I have to get all the 3.6
bugs and features in and I hardly have enough time as it is.

... Looking back at the comments I seem to have said I ported
the patch into gnome-2-22 branch, there was a release made by the
release team of this branch for the GNOME 2.24 release, its not
in the latest stable ? must be my mistake...

anyway, I really dont have the time now to pay attention to Glade 3.4.x
as I said before - if someone wants to collect some bugfixes and
port them to the branch and make a release, please feel free to do
so, and let me know about it.

If the distributions can carry the patch, then the problem will be largely reduced. Fedora is doing that: http://cvs.fedoraproject.org/viewvc/rpms/glade3/F-10/
