Description Steve Sibelman 2008-05-03 23:53:56 UTC
Please describe the problem:
Just loaded gnuCash 2.2.5 (Windows) for the first time. I thought it was dead, but it simply takes 10 minutes to start on a reasonably fast machine (1.5GB RAM, 3GHz Pentium 4, XP sp2)

Steps to reproduce:
1. double-click on GnuCash ikon
2.
3.

Actual results:
Splash screen appears and sits there for 10 minutes (even before I loaded my considerable QIF, which resulted in a 916KB .xac file

Expected results:
I would expect

Does this happen every time?
Yes, notwithstanding a reboot. Even if I just shut the app down, it takes 10 minutes to start or restart

Other information:
I like the software but this is a pretty serious usability obstacle. I'm hoping there's a readily resolved issue.
