Description Kandepu Prasad 2008-04-29 13:47:14 UTC
Appologies if it is a duplicate, but as I did not find one so I'm raising this. It will be really very good if we can change our composer body background. Say the backgrounds could be some saved odt / pdf / jpg / png / html page / word / bmp.....etc files where we can choose from the menu. One thing is it looks good when others receive mails in customized background. And secondly it will be useful when sending mail on a letter head (may be a company's) or some thing like that.

This is already possible to some extent from Format -> Page, but the functionality could be improved.

Please give specific suggestions for improvement based on what's there now, or we can resolve this as NOTABUG if the current functionality fits your needs.

Ah! this is the feature that I was looking. Thanks for update.

For an improvement, say suppose we are using some customized background which are dark colored or some thing written, we should be able to change the percentage of fading or transparency of the back ground so that fore ground message is not confused with back ground content.

We can add the style like -- Centered, Fill screen, Scaled, Zoomed, Tiled. Because I see some when selected always show as tiled.

Good ideas. Can't guarantee I'll get to them anytime soon but it's on my list.
Comment 5 André Klapper 2021-05-19 11:08:39 UTC
GNOME is going to shut down bugzilla.gnome.org in favor of gitlab.gnome.org.
As part of that, we are mass-closing older open tickets in bugzilla.gnome.org
which have not seen updates for a longer time (resources are unfortunately
quite limited so not every ticket can get handled).

If you can still reproduce the situation described in this ticket in a recent
and supported software version, then please follow
  https://wiki.gnome.org/Community/GettingInTouch/BugReportingGuidelines
and create a new enhancement request ticket at
  https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/evolution/-/issues/

Thank you for your understanding and your help.
