Description Mark 2008-04-18 19:53:53 UTC
Please describe the problem:
When i put this gconf value: /apps/panel/global/enable_animations to disable the gnome panel still "slides" in when i start gnome.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Change this gconf value: /apps/panel/global/enable_animations to disable
2.
3.

Actual results:
nothing.. that's the point

Expected results:
i would expect the panel slide in animations to be gone.

Does this happen every time?
yes

Other information:
i don't know when the gnome people decided to add the slide in of the panel when you enter gnome but this gconf key won't stop it. instead the following ones will:

/apps/panel/toplevels/bottom_panel/enable_animations
and
/apps/panel/toplevels/top_panel/enable_animations

And i thing (assume) that the animation should not happen when you change the global animations from enabled to disabled.. otherwise what's the point in having a global setting.. Put simple. the global one should overrule any settings that the child ones have.

bugzilla.gnome.org is being replaced by gitlab.gnome.org. We are closing all old bug reports in Bugzilla which have not seen updates for many years.

If you can still reproduce this issue in a currently supported version of GNOME (currently that would be 3.38), then please feel free to report it at https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/gnome-panel/-/issues/

Thank you for reporting this issue and we are sorry it could not be fixed.
