Description Olivier Le Thanh Duong 2008-04-15 21:49:14 UTC
This bug probably depends on #525559 but once it has been resolved, it would be nice to have an option to automatically accept (join) MUC invitation made by persons in my rooster.
Comment 1 Guillaume Desmottes 2009-02-13 10:24:50 UTC
#525559 has been fixed and tbh I'm not convince such option would be really useful. It's just 2 clicks to accept the invitation.
Comment 2 Sumana Harihareswara 2009-11-03 23:19:46 UTC
Olivier, are you thinking that this would be a preference ("Automatically accept any multi-user chat request by someone in my Contact List/roster") set by the user in Edit: Preferences, or Accounts, or Room: Manage Favorites?
Comment 3 Olivier Le Thanh Duong 2009-12-16 23:33:32 UTC
A preference in Edit: Preferences

Guillaume : this would be useful in case you are not in front in your computer so you don't miss what happen in the MUC.

Also this make sense in the case of private muc with your friend since they are just like private conversations
Comment 4 Jean-François Fortin Tam 2012-08-08 20:33:43 UTC
I would argue in favor of WONTFIX'ing this instead of adding an option for it. From what it seems, it is unlikely that effort is spent on implementing this feature.

Auto-accepting files might be considered a security/privacy/etc. risk, and if the contact at the other end cannot wait for your presence to send the file, wouldn't email be a better tool than IM for that?
Comment 5 Olivier Le Thanh Duong 2012-08-14 15:46:18 UTC
Jean-François, this bug is about joining multi-user conversation not about accepting files. Not joining the MUC ASAP mean I could be losing precious pieces of informations.
Comment 6 Jean-François Fortin Tam 2012-08-14 20:08:35 UTC
Oops, I misread indeed. In the absence of a patch however, up to the devs to decide if they want to implement this one, I suppose.
Comment 7 Tobias Mueller 2013-01-23 21:04:04 UTC
Hence marking as UNCOMFIRMED. Please set to either NEW or WONTFIX.
