Description Florent Mertens 2008-04-13 02:01:12 UTC
Rhythmbox is a cool applications but it don't always play nicely with other cool applications because it don't close it's own pipes when they are not in use.

Ex1 : If i want to play a game that use only oss audio system, i have to close
Rhythmbox, because even in pause, it don't close it's audio pipe.

Ex2 : On my system gstreammer is configured to use xv as video output. With my intel card, only one application at one time can use this output (i don't know if it's a limitation of my card or of xvideo). But for some reasons, Rhythmbox monopolize this output (no visualization), and so i have to close it if i want to watch a movie with totem. A shame.

This is a duplicate of bugs 406807 and 427244. Also, it's much better behaved if you enable crossfading.
