GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 527566
lowering crossfade duration to small value while music is playing causes crash
Last modified: 2008-04-11 21:24:50 UTC
Please describe the problem: It appears possible to make Rhythmbox become non-responsive (crashed) by changing the crossfade duration on the fly to a very small value and skipping to the next track. Steps to reproduce: 1. start rhythmbox and enable crossfade plugin to 30sec duration 2. queue up some tracks in a playlist (I had repeat and shuffle both enabled) 3. restart rhythmbox 4. play music from the playlist you created earlier 5. change crossfade duration to ~0.5sec (a very low value) while music is playing 6. change to the next track (I clicked the next button) Actual results: Rhythmbox becomes non-responsive as soon as you attempt to switch the track. All audio output is stopped immediately on attempting to change the track. Expected results: Track is changed with a crossfade equal to the new value of 0.5sec (or whatever other small amount). Does this happen every time? Yes. Other information: Using rhythmbox-0.11.5 on top of gnome-2.22.1/2 and gstreamer-0.10.19. I'm running Gentoo ~amd64 so every package on my system should be 'the latest'. I can provide more details of exact versions of other software I have installed, if required.
