GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 527111
Logitech QuickCam USB not under Hardy
Last modified: 2008-04-19 13:19:33 UTC
Please describe the problem: under ubuntu 8.04 (April 1. till 9.) chesse doesn't recognize my webcam. It worked perfectly under 7.10-386. but gstreamer-properties and ekiga works under 8.04 with that webcam, too. cheese --verbose shows no output. Steps to reproduce: 1. 2. 3. Actual results: Expected results: Does this happen every time? Other information:
and cheese -v? ;)
"cheese -v" starts cheese and no output in the terminal.
hmm.. it really should what version are you trying with?
Cheese 2.20.0 from ubuntu
could you try with 2.22.1? therer isnt no 2.20.*
it is not in the hardy repos.
it will come ;) we fixed quite a few bugs there and your cam should work with it.
thank you. i was wondering because it worked so well under 7.10.
you could also try to compile it yourself, if you want
i never compiled anything under linux.
2.22.1 arrived in Hardy and no change. My webcam works with ekiga and gstreamer-properties. But not with Cheese. gstreamer-properties gstreamer-properties-Message: Skipping unavailable plugin 'artsdsink' gstreamer-properties-Message: Skipping unavailable plugin 'sdlvideosink' gstreamer-properties-Message: Skipping unavailable plugin 'v4lmjpegsrc' gstreamer-properties-Message: Skipping unavailable plugin 'qcamsrc' gstreamer-properties-Message: Skipping unavailable plugin 'esdmon'
