Description Rob Frohne 2008-04-05 03:23:27 UTC
Hi,

We recently took a trip and my wife had a bunch of photos on two SD cards. Somehow she got them swapped and imported one card twice and the other not at all. This caused all kinds of trouble. Not only were 600+ photos lost, but she had to by hand remove about 600 duplicates. She is not happy with me for saddling her with F-Spot and Linux at this point. She is used to iPhoto (which has this feature, but is painfully slow).

The feature we need, in case I have not been clear, is to notify the user when importing if photos have already been imported and are in the computer already.

Thanks,

Rob

Rob,
Here is my workaround for this particular characteristic of f-spot:

- Select "Find" "Imported Rolls" "select imported rolls..."

- f-spot will display the imported photos (ie duplicates)

- selected all of these duplicates and right click your mouse on them; select "Remove from Disk"

Good luck! There are enough great features good features to make up for this current shortcoming in the import feature.
