i can confirm that (i was about to fill a similar bug report).
Right click on a png file : Nautilus displays an "image" tab showing metadata
Right click on a svg file : nauitilus doesn't display the "image" tab nor metadata

I'm using Ubuntu hardy Beta (GNOME 2.22)
